Control

Interesting what is recomended to me when I log into my Youtube-account. Today some Marble-machine-movie was, and I clicked it, and watched another one and another, and another… There seems to be a whole comunity of people making these! And they are quite interesting both mechanicly and the sequences and sounds they are creating with them.

Imagine the balls triggering small switches controlling another machine. Through seeing the ball moving down, then to be lifted up and the sequence repeated all over is a great visualisation of a programming loop.

Two great examples!

Brother of my best fried, from a family of artist, creative minded and Automation Engineer, Mattias Lindh has agreed to help me out when it comes to programming electronics and mechanics. I´ve been helping out some on renovating his house in and in return he is a perfect friend to have to help in these matters.

In his job he designs systems that control and run industrial machines. Huge things that assembles or welds finished product together from almost scratch. Yesterday we looked at how the Arduinos work and he agreed it´s a perfect way to get started. Programming is based on C-language and very good to get into, though it´s all “PLC-programming” when you controll big machines lika Mattias does.

Today I´m buying a Multimeter and ordering my Arduino!

Sorry no pictures in this post. One of Mattias will be necessary to complete this post later!
